About Jay Meyers

Jay Meyers was born in Queens, New York. He was competitively selected to the combined accelerated BA/JD program at SUNNY Albany and Albany Law School of Union University, receiving his JD in 1990. His bar admissions include New York, Connecticut, United States District Courts of New York and the United States Supreme Court. He has been in private practice since 1992, as principal in the Law Office of Jay Meyers. He has been a director of the Richmond County Bar Association since 2001. In that capacity he has served on the Judicial Selection By Laws Revision Committee, as an Arbitrator on the Attorney Client Fee Dispute Committee and various social committees. He has served as a volunteer Arbitrator for Civil Court Small Claims Part. He was certified by the Appellate Division 2nd Department as an Attorney Client Mediator in 1999. In his spare time Jay Meyers volunteers as a Captain in the New York Guard's 7th Regiment where he serves as an attorney, and also completed training in Search and Rescue.

The Law Office of Jay Meyers focuses its practice on the rights debtor/creditor including collections, as well as restructuring. We represent both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings.

The practice is equally devoted to real estate including representation of developers, as well as purchasers and sellers in addition to regularly serving as a settlement agent for many national bank and credit unions.
